One Minute Motors: MG S5 Overview
A real-world look at the all-new MG S5.
In this episode of One Minute Motors, we take a closer look at the MG S5, the smallest SUV in MG's growing S range. Designed with families in mind, it combines compact dimensions with impressive practicality, generous technology and competitive pricing.
From the outside, the MG S5 carries the brand's latest design language with sharp LED headlights, smooth body lines and a full-width rear light bar that gives it a clean, modern appearance. It looks every bit the contemporary electric SUV.
Inside, practicality is one of the S5's biggest strengths. There's plenty of room for passengers, a surprisingly spacious boot with an adjustable floor for additional underfloor storage, and lots of clever places to keep everyday items. Up front you'll find twin cupholders, a wireless phone charger, a dedicated phone pocket and MG's latest infotainment system with built-in satellite navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
One feature that really stands out is the built-in entertainment. Even without connecting your phone, the infotainment system includes apps such as Spotify, YouTube and TikTok, making charging stops or waiting in the car that little bit more enjoyable.
On the road, the MG S5 delivers a smooth and comfortable driving experience. The rotary gear selector adds a premium touch, while MG's latest EV platform helps create a refined feel behind the wheel. Buyers can choose models offering between 211 and 298 miles of WLTP range, while the Trophy model featured here also adds a 360-degree camera with a transparent chassis view that's genuinely useful for tight manoeuvres.
With prices starting at just under £29,000 and rising to just under £34,000 for the Long Range Trophy, the MG S5 offers a compelling combination of technology, practicality and value in the electric SUV market.
