BYD Seal 6: First Impressions

Exploring the design and headline figures of the BYD Seal 6.
In this episode of First Look, we take an early look at the BYD Seal 6, the latest addition to BYD's rapidly expanding range of vehicles in the UK. While BYD has become known for its growing selection of electric vehicles, the Seal 6 takes a slightly different approach by bringing plug-in hybrid technology to the compact saloon segment. Joining the Sealion 5 and Seal U as part of BYD's plug-in hybrid lineup, the Seal 6 is aimed at drivers looking for the styling and efficiency benefits of a modern saloon without committing to a fully electric powertrain. Visually, the Seal 6 shares much of the sleek styling that made the fully electric BYD Seal so popular. Its low-slung profile and streamlined design draw comparisons to vehicles such as the Tesla Model 3, while the hybrid drivetrain delivers a claimed WLTP range of more than 900 miles. Buyers will be able to choose between both saloon and estate body styles, adding extra flexibility depending on their needs. Even in saloon form, practicality is impressive, with a large boot, spacious cabin and panoramic roof helping create a bright and airy interior environment. Technology remains a strong point too. As we've come to expect from BYD, the cabin feels modern, user-friendly and packed with features designed to make everyday driving easier. On the road, the Seal 6 feels comfortable and effortless, whether you're using it for short local journeys or longer motorway trips. We'll be taking a much deeper dive into specifications, pricing and the driving experience in a future review, but based on first impressions, the BYD Seal 6 looks set to become another important model in the brand's growing UK portfolio. At Leasing Options, our First Look series provides a quick overview of the newest vehicles arriving on the market, helping drivers and businesses stay informed before the full reviews arrive. πŸš—
